Music & Movement ...(27/09/18)
Each Thursday and Friday we join Jane for music and dance. This week we danced around the room using scarves. We experimented with different ways of moving, jumping,bobbing,& bending. Joining in with this activity helped us to coordinate and control our bodies and to develop our spacial awareness.

Harvest Festival ... (W/c 24/09/18)
We are collecting for Burnley Women's Refuge. We are grateful for any donations.Thank you.

Music & Dance ... (04/10/18)
This week we had a special guest Kayla she came into nursery to teach the children ballet and tap dancing. Not only did we learn lots of different dance moves we had lots of fun too!

Tatty Bumpkins ...
Every Tuesday we join in with Tatty Bumpkins. Tatty Bumpkins helps us to be bendy, giggly, clever and strong!
What is Tatty Bumpkins?
Tatty Bumpkins combines yoga movement with story telling to support children's development - in particular looking at core strength and flexibility as well as developing imagination and communication skills.

Autumn ...
We have enjoyed learning all about Autumn. Autumn is the season that is full of changes within nature. it is 
also a fun time of year when people around the world celebrate and give thanks.

Burnley Mechanics Theatre trip ... (16/10/18)
This afternoon we enjoyed visiting the theatre to watch a performance of Tabby McTat.

Halloween ... (w/c 29/10/18)

This week at nursery we have been celebrating Halloween, we took part in lots of different activities, read Room on the Broom, carved a pumpkin and did lots of messy and sensory play ...

Halloween Party ... (31/10/18)
Everyone was invited to after school club for the Halloween party. We dressed up, played party games and had yummy party food!

Bonfire Night ... (05/11/18)
This week we have been busy joining in with lots of 'Bonfire' night activities such as sharing our Bonfire Night experiences, making fire work pictures, pretending to be fireworks and lots more ... 

Diwali (w/c 5/11/18)
We have been learning all about Diwali. Diwali is a five day festival of light, it is celebrated by millions of Hindus and Sikhs across the world. The festival, which coincides with the Hindu New Year, celebrates new beginning and triumph of good over evil and light and darkness.

We have hens ... (12/11/18)
We were very excited to meet our new hens that will be living in our chicken coop outside. We are all looking forward to learning lots about them.

Children In Need ... (16/11/18)
To raise money for Children In Need we wore spotty clothes and sold spotty buns.

Today we helped to decorate the Christmas tree, doesn't it look beautiful!

Family Christmas Celebration ... (12/12/18)
Families were invited to join us, we sang Christmas songs, made reindeer food, Christmas decorations and melted snowmen! Merry Christmas everyone!

Children In Need ...
We had a fantastic time raising money for Children In Need. Through selling cakes, and dressing up we raised on amazing £89.57. Thank you!

To help raise money for 'Save The Children' everyone wore their Christmas Jumpers and donated £1. Thank you everyone!

Tea with Santa ... (13/12/18)
Everyone was invited to join Santa at after school club, we enjoyed playing party games and sharing tea with him, thank you Santa!

Christmas party ... (19/12/18)
Everyone had a brilliant time at the Christmas party, we enjoyed playing party games, watching a magic show, singing and dancing with heart beeps, meeting Santa and eating lots of yummy food, what fun we had!

Climbing wall ... (08/01/19)
Today we had lots of fun learning how to use the new climbing wall. It was brilliant! We can't wait to test out our climbing skills again tomorrow!

As part of this event everyone listened to The Gingerbread man story and joined in with lots of Gingerbread man activities.

Chinese New Year celebrations... (wk/c 04/02/19)
This week we have been learning all about Chinese New Year. We have enjoyed joining in with lots of fun activities. We especially enjoyed Dragon dancing.This year it is the year of the Pig!

A special delivery ... (04/03/19)
Today we received a special delivery, everyone was excited to find out what it was, inside the box there was 15 tiny speckled eggs! Everyone shared their ideas of what might be growing inside them ..."Dinosaurs, baby chicks, spiders, hens, frogs!" The Eggs have been put into an incubator to keep them warm and safe. We will keep you updated ...

Pancake Day ... (5/03/19)
To celebrate Pancake Day we made yummy pancakes. They tasted delicious!

World Book Day ... (07/03/19)
To celebrate World Book Day we all dressed up as our favourite book characters and read our favourite stories.

Egg update ... (08/03/19)
We have exciting news ... some of the eggs have hatched! We have discovered that they are quails, they are so cute! We are looking forward to learning lots about them.

We are reading event ... (13/03/19)
As part of 'we are reading' everyone listened to 'Whatever Next' Story by Jill Murphy. We also enjoyed acting out the story with our friends.

Jungle Dancing ... (14/03/19)
This week we have been thinking about Handa's Hen story to support this in music and movement we went on a jungle adventure. We saw lots of animals we even pretended to be some of them!

Red Nose Day ... (15/03/19)
To help to raise money for Red Nose Day everyone learnt a 'Red Nose Day' dance and donated £1. 

World Down Syndrome Day ... (21/03/19)
To raise Money for World Down Syndrome Day we all wore odd socks and donated £1.

Well done everyone for supporting Red Nose Day and World Down Syndrome Day, we managed to raise an amazing £45.20p for Red Nose Day and £51.00 for World Down Syndrome Day. Thank you! 

The Very Hungry Caterpillar ... (25th march - 5th April)

For the next two weeks we are thinking about 'The Hungry Caterpillar story'. Throughout nursery there are lots of exciting activities for us to do! We have also got 'real' caterpillars to help us learn all about the life cycle of a butterfly!

Today for stay & play we invited our mum's and grandma's, we had lots of fun showing them all the wonderful things we have been learning about.

Happy Easter ... (April 2019)
Everyone has enjoyed joining in with lots of fun Easter activities. We particularly enjoyed making chocolate Easter nests, going on a Easter egg hunt and decorating eggs for the Easter egg competition. 

Jasper's beanstalk ... (23rd April- 3rd May 2019)
This week it is Jasper's beanstalk as our focus story, we were very excited when we received a rather large letter from a rather large character ... the GIANT! 
We were able to use the giants footprint as a great measuring tool, comparing, ordering and measuring a range of objects. this activity helped us to practice using mathematical language to describe the size of various everyday items.

Fruit Kababs ... (10/05/19)
Today we made fruit kababs with Emily, they tasted yummy. We had to carefully chop up the fruit and put the fruit onto a skewer. As we were making them we thought about repeated patterns ...
